In early April 2015, while at the Southern Kentucky Bookfest, I watched as children of all ages flocked into the building. Each child was immensely different, yet each had a common thread, the love of reading. I watched as the children swarmed the tables, chatting up the authors, discovering a whole new world within the pages of the books on hand. I have several children's books for the younger crowd, but seeing the older children my mind started working, wondering how I could reach them as well. The quick answer, I needed to write a YA (young adult) novel. I write woman's fiction so I felt certain I could come up with something. However, I also knew that just putting words on paper would not be enough. I would need something that would capture their attention, bring them in and keep them engaged. This idea is still a work in progress, however, I hope to share it will you one day soon. Until then, happy reading!
